Bass - This isn't just another pretty bass. See Details

F basses sound and play as good as they look. The elegant sculpted contours give the body a unique look while the cutaway provides total access to the upper register and the extended top horn provides amazing balance and improved coupling with the neck. The grain matched wooden pickup and control cavity covers, the contoured wood knobs, the flawless lacquer finish and the outstanding fretwork and setup show unparalleled attention to detail.

When you first play an F bass you are struck first by the incredible comfort of the instrument.

Electronic Drums - The Roland SPD-S - See Details

Recently, with little fanfare, Roland introduced the SPD-S sampling pad. We think this is the coolest sampler and loop creator. It is amazing how powerful, simple, and affordable the SPD-S is.

All you have to do is record a sound of your own, or take one off the included CD, assign it to a pad and off you go! Create loops with the phrase maker function, add multi-effects, or even add an external trigger! Come down to Gelb and check this thing out...you will be impressed.

Hand Percussion - The new LP Giovanni compact conga - See Details

The new LP Giovanni compact conga is turning heads on stage and studios everywhere! The compact conga was designed with master Conguero Giovanni Hidalgo. It not only sounds great, but can be easily tuned to different pitches with a simple drum key.

This slim line conga fits most snare stands so it's perfect for use with a drum set, percussion set, or on it's own. You can use a natural skin but we recommend the stock Evans synthetic head for durability, sound and weather resistance. You must drop by and check this out!

Amplifiers - Featuring Bad Cat Amplifiers - See Details

Ever hear the phrase, "Picking up where somebody has left off?" Well, this expression could certainly apply to the fine folks at Bad Cat Amplifiers. After having pioneered the whole "Class A" amp craze of the 90's, some of the folks who started the original Matchless Amplifier company had decided they could do better.

Some of the things that weren't "just right" with the original amps, have now turned into a whole new approach and design philosophy. Resulting in ... Bad Cat!

Testimonials

"Even though I live in SF I have been a long time customer of Gelb Music. Starting out as a pup in my first band to touring internationally, the folks at Gelb have taken care of me and made sure I was ready to rock. Over the years I've developed personal relationships with the guys that work there. Being a woman in the music industry has enough challenges of it's own but these guys have never given me attitude and really helped me out and encouraged me. I have nothing but the highest regards for this place."
Nancy Kravitz

"Gelb Music is a one of a kind store. You can go all over the U.S. (I have) and not find a store as great as Gelb. Their sales staff is extremely knowledgeable, all of them are experienced musicians, most with gigging bands, and their service is probably better then what you get at a $100 a plate restaurant. Every time I go to Gelb music I leave feeling happy and confident that my purchase will continue to please me for years to come. They have not let me down yet."
Mike Thompson

"The Gelb staff is able to extend their remarkable knowledge of music, instruments, musicianship, and art to a wide range of consumer ranging in age from the interested child to the adult. This staff treats all the people who enter the doors of this fine establishment with respect and patience."
Jim & Sean Clifford

"There are three main reasons I always shop at Gelb: extremely knowledgeable and friendly salespeople; extensive selection of professional grade gear; and none of the used-car-lot hassles of other music stores. I always get a great price without having to spend my day bartering with commissioned salespeople."
Michael Tyler

"What can I say?! I've been shopping at Gelb for almost 20 years, and their selection, service, and support is still the best in the Bay Area!"
Mark Cvitkovich

"I've been buying my equipment at Gelb for about 20 years now.
The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable and more interested in meeting my needs rather than selling me
something I don't need or that doesn't fit.
They are always ready to answer my questions, and they always have the newest equipment and absolutely the best prices in the Bay Area.
I won't shop anywhere else, you shouldn't either."
Ray Souza
