Roscoe SKB 3005 Exhibition Burl Walnut Top on Ash
Holy cow. This is one gorgeous bass & it sounds incredible. A little background: Keith Roscoe makes some amazing instruments. They're very ergonomic & feature great attention to detail but most importantly they play & sound amazing and are a really good value for the dollar. Keith & Gard sent us some jpegs of tops & this one really knocked us out. Walnut can be a very scooped sounding wood on a bass with a lot of bottom end. We speced ths bass with an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp & a maple fingerboard to open it up & give it a little extra growl. The results were outstanding. It's sweet & balanced but can really snarl when you dig in. It has good smooth bottom end, clean crisp top & open mids. Nice. Very nice.

The specs: 35" scale 24 fret maple fingerboard with a diamondwood nut. Bartolini humbuckers feed an Aguilar OBP-3 3 band preamp. Hipshot hardware. Includes hardshell case.
